OnePlus 5 owners are reporting a "jelly" effect when scrolling

Sponsored Links

OnePlus 5 owners have begun reporting a very particular issue, one that may be difficult to notice at first. When scrolling on a web page or Twitter feed, you may be able to notice that some of the contents of the feed may take a little longer to catch up to the rest of it, creating a stretchy illusion while scrolling. XDA Developers has reached out to OnePlus and confirms that the phone maker is already looking into it. There's still no official information as to what exactly is causing the behavior, nor is there any information as to how the issue would be fixed, should there any...

Samsung updates launcher to reduce lag, but there's still more work to be done

There's no doubt that the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were the shining stars of the year and many have deemed it "the best smartphone that money can buy". Despite all the praise the S8 duo got, one huge issue that hadn't been directly addressed is the constant stutter and lagging of the UI on the Galaxy S8. While it isn't apparent when first setting the phone up, it definitely becomes more apparent over time as more apps are installed and services become active; all this, despite the Galaxy S8's latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835. Today, Samsung has released an update to...

First live Meizu Pro 7 hands-on image surfaces

We saw some prototypes and then a photo of the back of the Meizu Pro 7 with a secondary screen on the back. Now a couple of images give us the best look of the device yet. The photos show us the overall design of the Meizu Pro 7. There is one camera on the front and a bland white front panel, nothing surprising. The home button should double as a fingerprint scanner. On the back, the camera module is positioned above the secondary display on the left. We see the dual-LED flash and dual cameras over the minuscule secondary screen. The antenna bands follow the curvature of...

Snapchat now lets you create custom geofilters within the app

Snapchat announced the geofilters feature last year that allowed users to create a custom filter for a particular location for people in that location to use. This was useful for, say, a party and everyone attending that party could then use that filter for their snap and because it was restricted to that location only people there can use it. To make these filters, however, you would need to use Snapchat's web tool or an image editing software. With the latest update, Snapchat has made it very easy to create a geofilter within the Snapchat app itself. Now, users will be able to...

Moto Z2 Play comes with ZUK's ZUI in China

Back in January we heard an odd rumor saying that future Motorola handsets would run ZUK's ZUI in China, instead of the near-stock Android builds that the company ships elsewhere. ZUK is, like Motorola, owned by Lenovo, so at least from that point of view this made some sense. What wasn't as clear was why the company would go this route. We still don't know that, but one thing is clear: the new Moto Z2 Play does indeed run ZUI if you pick one up in China. This is evidenced by the screenshot you can see to the left, showing the About screen for the device, which has an entry for the ZUI...

Samsung Galaxy Note7 FE pops up on GFXBench

The Galaxy Note7 FE is closer than ever with reports that it will come out on July 7. The phone appeared on GFXBench, revealing most of the phone's specs. The only surprise is the listed FHD resolution, but that's probably because Samsung adds a built-in scaling option to its premium offerings that is set to render the UI at 1080p by default. The listing is for a Samsung Galaxy Note 7 FE with a model name SM-N935. The phone will sport an Exynos 8 chipset with octa-core CPU. Memory combo is 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. According to the benchmark listing, the primary camera is 12 MP,...
